Gilsonite

Here is an interesting one. It is a glob of hard, hydrocarbon sitting in a vug of tiny calcite or dolomite crystals. The label says "gilsonite" and it may well be. I do not know what separated the various hydrocarbons like this from each other. Interesting and unique!
