A striking specimen featuring a very large, light powdery blue-grey celestine crystal from the Dundas Quarry (LaFarge Quarry), West Flamborough, Ontario. The crystal is singly terminated and displays the characteristic pale blue-grey colour typical of celestine from this locality. The termination shows the distinctive white zoning often seen in Dundas Quarry material, giving the crystal an attractive layered appearance. The crystal is dense and well formed, making it a particularly impressive single-crystal example.

The Dundas Quarry is widely regarded as Canada’s best locality for celestine crystals. Occurring in vugs within the Lockport Formation dolostone along the Niagara Escarpment, the quarry has produced a variety of well-formed celestine crystals, often showing the distinctive zoned terminations characteristic of the deposit. Specimens from this locality are highly sought after by collectors of Canadian minerals, and large, well-terminated crystals such as this are especially desirable representatives of this classic Ontario occurrence.
