The Newfoundland Zinc Mine has been closed for many years. It was a high grade zinc mine with very little galena, pyrite or other contaminants in the ore and so was relatively easy to mill and produced a very desirable concentrate. Here is a delicate honeycomb of pinkish dolomite crystals, arranged in plates and parallel growth, sprinkled with tiny marcasite crystals. Collected back in 1979 or 1980. Looks great!
