The gemmy root beer-brown crystals on this specimen are clustered close together and feature parallel growth. The two edges on either side the main face of the crystals has a matte finish compared to the main face. A classic specimen from its type locality, named after the famous Mt. Vesuvius which erupted in 79 AD, burying Pompeii. These alpine Italian beauties are among the finest and most highly sought after examples of the species.
