Safflorite almost entirely coats dendritic silver amongst exposed silver leaf on this specimen that was etched out of calcite. Some calcite can still be seen in the vein section. It comes from a lesser known locality, the Millerett Mine in Haultain Township, a silver mine located in the Miller Lake area that operated between 1909 and 1912. During that time it produced about 19 million grams of silver and 2300kg of cobalt. Most of the production came from an open cut vein and the remainder from veins in diabase.*
