Here's a very rich sample of high grade silver ore in a glimmering calcite vein from the Langis Mine. The dendritic silver is inside matte grey saffrolite and runs right through the specimen, with many silver beads showing through the other side of the specimen. The piece is sawn on one side and left rough on the other to best show the mineralogical textures. The specimen comes from the Langis Mine, a site owned and operated by different mining companies since 1906 until around 1971 when it became solely owned by Langis Mining Ltd. Total silver production to the end of 1966 was approx. 9.4 million ounces. Very nice piece!
