This Italian classic can be hard to come by, especially in this size and quality. The Giumentaro Mine was a famous Sicilian sulphur mine that ceased operations in 1984. This specimen boasts some very sharp intergrown, twinned, elongated hexagonal crystals, with a faded green hue and a high luster. Under short wave UV the specimen fluoresces a strong orange-pink, after the UV is turned off the specimen shows bright green phosphorescence as it fades back to normal. Under long wave UV the specimen exhibits a bright white fluorescence.
The specimen is in great condition with just a few dings as seen in the photos. Can be easily displayed with no damage showing.
