Vivianite

This vivianite crystal comes from The Cabeça do Cachorro Claim in the Amazonas state of Brazil.  This remote forested area is rich in phosphatic nodules that can produce these deep green Vivianite crystals, often along with superb Ludlamite.  A bit too big to be called a thumbnail (more like a toenail?), this gemmy crystal boasts clean faces and a sharp termination. This is unlike much of the other crystals that comes from the claim, often sold in long shards. A stunning crystal that looks beautiful back-lit!
