This specimen displays one main root beer brown vesuvianite at the centre of a cavity with a few other interconnected vesuvianites all in a matrix made up of black mica and orange grossular garnets micros (largest 5mm). A very nice specimen from its type locality, named after the famous Mt. Vesuvius which erupted in 79 AD, burying Pompeii. These Italian beauties are among the finest and most highly sought after examples of the species.
