A classic specimen from its type locality, named after the famous Mt. Vesuvius which erupted in 79 AD, burying Pompeii. The gemmy root-beer brown crystals on this specimen are clustered close together within the vug with one larger more tabular crystal at the rear. These alpine Italian beauties are among the finest and most highly sought after examples of the species. A really nice specimen!
