One highly lustrous blue-green crystal appears on tucked on the matrix. The top of the crystal does show a termination but does have a point of contact (top right). It's a fairly large crystal for the area and is semi-translucent showing diffrent shades of grey to green in the interior. Very nice!

Tremolite from the area is often dubbed "actinolite". Tremolite and actinolite are two very similar minerals that form a series with each other and essentially share the same chemical formula. Tremolite has a greater presence of magnesium over iron, whereas actinolite has a greater presence of iron over magnesium. Since we're unsure of the chemical difference we will use tremolite for the species name. Tremolite is not uncommon in this area, most often found in the form of dense inter-grown fibrous material, thus making these gemmy and highly lustrous crystals something special!
