Spinel, Diopside

Here is an interesting specimen from a very remote locality in the Arctic! It is a clustering of black spinel crystals on prismatic, grey diopside crystals. The spinel crystals have many crystal forms showing in sharp, crystal faces -many of the forms of the Isometric system. Excellent!
