A single well-formed, silky-lustred, black, euhedral spinel crystal, showing several isometric forms, from MacDonald Island, located off of Baffin Island in Nunavut. The occurrence is a diopside skarn contacted between a pegmatitic syenite and marble, the spinel occurs in calcite pods in the skarn. The specimen is a very attractive, interesting specimen from a long gone, very remote locality.
