Here is a remarkable meaty slab of high grade rich in silver in arsenide mineralization. This specimen comes from the Buffalo Mine. Not a lot of material is available from this particular lesser known mine, it's very rare to find anything there anymore, let alone a large sample like this. The Buffalo was discovered in 1906 and operated until 1919 by Buffalo Mines Ltd. By various operators after that and finally by Agnico Mines Ltd. in 1957. The last work done on it was underground exploration from 1963-1967. The property was developed by 4 main shafts the deepest being 235 ft. Total production was about 14 million oz. silver; and 150,000 lbs of cobalt. Wow!
