Zeballos, Vancouver Island, British Columbia
Size: 6.6x0.8x2.5 cm

From a newer, less known locality near Zeballos on Vancouver Island, here is a single very sharp quartz crystal with inclusions of the acicular amphibole, byssolite. The elongated crystal shows a frosty transparent tip with the lower two-thirds displaying a dense forest-green interior phantom. There is more of a tan or straw colour nearer the base of the crystal due to oxidization. Colloquially known as "forest quartz", it's quite easy to fantasize about digging these specimens up in the beautiful rain forests of B.C. However! all digging on the the claim is now under a strict halt and we're not sure when more will become available again. A must have for any Canadian collection!
