A sample of Pyrolusite crystals showing a spherical habit with sharp short prismatic crystal forms. Pyrolusite is a Manganese Oxide that is often soft and can make your fingers dirty. however when well crystallized can also be harder than glass. It forms as a weathering product of other manganese minerals. Nice luster!
