Pyrite

This specimen is a cluster of highly lustrous pyrite crystals some showing combinations of cube and octahedral crystal habit. The Port au Port Peninsula, on the west coast of the island of Newfoundland has become a prolific producer of mineral specimens, in recent years. One of the most interesting is the occurrence of pyrite nodules and crystals in the shales of West Bay, Tea Cove, Lead Cove, etc. Attractive and interesting!
