A fine micro specimen featuring a brilliant cluster of gemmy, orange labuntsovite-Mn crystals perfectly nestled in a small opening between microcline crystals. The labuntsovite group minerals are rare complex titanium silicates, and this example shows excellent development, with lustrous, well-formed crystals that sparkle under magnification.
Despite its diminutive size, the specimen displays striking aesthetics, the vibrant orange hue and glassy lustre contrast beautifully with the pale microcline matrix. Pieces of this quality are seldom encountered from Mont Saint-Hilaire, and this is a particularly choice example for any species collector or specialist in this classic alkaline locality.
