Hemimorphite, Calcite

Here is an attractive hemimorphite specimen! The front of the piece is an open vug with a "star" of hemimorphite on a pedestal of calcite crystals. The rest of the vug has calcite crystals scattered about on botryoidal iron oxides. The matrix is highly corroded, altered galena and each fragment of galena is covered with secondary lead minerals. Some interesting crystals under the microscope, perhaps mimetite or others. Interesting, good looking specimen!
