The front of this specimen is a portion of a quartz vein that has an area of rich, native gold, dark, brassy-yellow chalcopyrite and a micaceous tellurite mineral. (looks like a tetradymite-like telluride). The gold is actually at the contact of creamy white calcite and white quartz. Nice piece from an unusual locality!
