Nice sample of gold from the Lamaque Mine in Val D'or, Quebec, classified as a heritage site by the Ministry of Culture in 2010. The town itself is known colloquially as the "City of Gold" and is located in the regional county, "Valley of Gold". The bulk of the mines operation was between 1934 and 1989 and over the years has produced an astonishing 5.9 million troy ounces of gold produced from its two orebodies!
