Galena, Sphalerite

A superb sample of galena and sphalerite from the Pine Point Mine. The mine is located at the southern shore of Great Slave Lake in Canada's North West Territories and, although it has been closed since 1988, it could re-open in the near future. The silvery galena crystals have been naturally made smooth and stand out on top the dark pseudo-octahedral sphalerite on matrix. An unusually good galena specimen from there. Would look great on display!
