When miners of old encountered large masses of native copper in the Michigan copper mines, they could not break them up further with explosives of machinery and so chiseled the boulders down to small, manageable bits with hammer and chisel. This is such a fragment of a copper boulder in the shape of a "chisel chip". Historical!
