This matrix has a rich vein of red cinnabar across one end. In the cinnabar are openings, lined with tiny, gemmy-red cinnabar crystals that are partially or totally filled/coated with native mercury. The mercury, as you would expect looks like silvery liquid attached to the cinnabar, for which it has an affinity. Excellent!
