Calcite

Here's a nice thumbnail specimen of a singular amber calcite crystal, with an over growth of milky white calcite on top. The specimen comes from the Grant Quarry, in Gloucester.  The quarry is part of the Beekmantown Formation that shows up at several locations, From Saratoga Springs NY, through Herkimer NY, St-Clothilde Quebec, St-Eustache Quebec to Greely Ontario.
