This is one of the best breithauptite specimens that I have seen! It is a very dense rectangular, thick piece that is sawn and highly polished on one side only, to reveal the unique mineralogical texture better. It is composed of dendritic breithauptite encased in thick nickeline with only a little carbonate vein gangue. The top of the specimen in the picture is one of the vein-wall contacts. The breithauptite, easy to see because of its pink-metallic colour is present in lobular-dendritic aggregates. The same textures can be seen in the fresh, rough sides of the piece. VERY dense!! Beautiful piece of this unusual nickel antimony mineral.
