This specimen features sharply formed seafoam green scalenohedral zincolivenite crystals, accompanied by darker transparent colour-zoned bayldonite from Tsumeb, Namibia, renowned for producing some of the finest examples of zincolivenite. Zincolivenite, often classified alongside adamite, forms through a complete chemical series between zinc-rich olivenite and adamite, explaining its similarities in structure and coloration. Prior to its formal classification, specimens of zinc-rich olivenite were commonly referred to as "Zn-olivenite" or "cuproadamite," with zincolivenite later confirmed as its own distinct species in the mineral series. This specimen was purchased by Dr. Tarassoff at the Montreal Gem and Mineral Show in 1992.
