Zanazziite is a rare phosphate mineral that contains calcium, magnesium, beryllium, iron, and aluminum, and is often associated with pegmatite formations. The finest specimens are found in several pegmatite localities in Brazil, with Lavra da Ilha being the type locality for this mineral. This particular specimen features olive green, aggregates of prismatic and rounded zanazziite crystals, all sitting on a matrix of white albite.
In addition to zanazziite, this piece showcases the presence of eosphorite, a manganese phosphate, which forms striking brown bladed crystals in radial clusters. The combination of these rare minerals makes this an excellent example of mineralogical diversity from this famous locality in Brazil.
