This specimen showcases a sharp, lustrous tabular blade of wulfenite, set within a protective vug, measuring up to 1 cm. The honey-yellow crystal is beautifully complemented by a drusy coating of forest-green conichalcite, forming spherical aggregates that fill the vug. Micro crystals of calcite and cerussite enhance the aesthetic and mineralogical interest of the piece. Though conichalcite is a common secondary mineral, specimens from Tsumeb, particularly those hosting well-preserved wulfenite, are notably rare on the market. This piece is a prime example of Tsumeb wulfenite with exceptional colour and composition. Dr. Tarassoff acquired it from The Lesnicks at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show in 1980.
