This specimen features a large, gemmy wulfenite crystal with characteristic orange colouration and classic beveled edges. The crystal is almost entirely intact, with only minor contact on the lower right side where it was loosely attached to the host rock. The back of the crystal, and parts of the surface, are adorned with rounded mimetite balls. This is an excellent competitive thumbnail specimen, showcasing a striking combination of wulfenite and mimetite.
The specimen comes from the Rowley mine located in the Painted Rock Mountains, roughly 27 miles west of Gila Bend, Arizona. Discovered in 1900, the mine saw initial production around 1909, with its last recorded output in 1923. Specimens from this locality are highly sought after by collectors due to their historical significance and the distinctive quality of the minerals found there.
