This specimen consists of a distinct brick-red willemite crystal showing textbook, hexagonal form and excellent bevelled edges, exposed atop a white calcite matrix, and accompanied by several black franklinite octahedrons. The willemite exhibits bright green fluorescence under ultraviolet light, a hallmark of this mineral. This specimen comes from the Franklin Mining District in New Jersey, a world-renowned locality known for having more fluorescent minerals than any other place on Earth. The district is considered an American classic, particularly for its rare and highly collectible fluorescent mineral specimens.
