Here's a nice specimen, not only for the excellent cluster of well formed and lustrous whiteite, but for the associated brownish-yellow Arrojadite-(KFe) crystals that mat the entire bottom of the specimen and occur in many of the crevaces on the specimen face, along with the occasional blue lazulite crystal too. Arrojadite-(KFe) is an uncommon phosphate mineral. Whiteite is a rare hydrated hydroxyphosphate mineral, and some of the finest specimens come from this locality. Notably, no new material is currently being extracted from this isolated and hard to reach locality! Collected by Michel Brunet in 1987 and purchased by Dr. Tarassoff that year.
