Weloganite, Fluorite

This specimen is a true curiosity, featuring pastel purple fluorite inclusions throughout much of the sparkly quartz druse lining the vug. Most fascinating is the presence of fluorite inclusions within the typically yellow, hexagonal prism of weloganite—a highly unusual occurrence. The specimen originates from the Francon Quarry in central Montreal, a locality renowned for its unique alkalic intrusive sill hosted in limestone. The quarry ceased operations in 1981 and will never reopen, making specimens from this site exceptionally rare and highly sought after by collectors.
