This specimen features a cluster of well-formed, bipyramidal wardite crystals perched atop a mass of smaller crystals from the famous Rapid Creek locality in the Dawson Mining District, Yukon. The sharp wardite crystals display an excellent icy-white colour, with some crystal faces partially coated in micro eosphorite needles. In addition to the quality of the wardite, what makes this specimen particularly noteworthy is the presence of numerous microcrystals of bipyrimidal pyrite grown with the eosphorite—resulting in a rare and visually intriguing mineral association. Overall, this is a very fine example from this classic Canadian locality.
