Wardite

Rapid Creek, Dawson Mining Dist., Yukon
Canada
Dimensions: 3.3x3.9x1.6 cm
Largest crystal size: 9 mm
Price: CA

This specimen features many small but well-formed bipyramidal wardite crystals exposed on matrix from the famous Rapid Creek locality in the Dawson Mining District, Yukon. Many of these sharp wardite crystals exhibit classic icy-blue coloration, with some on the back showing a bit of brown iron staining. A thin sprinkling of micro eosphorite needles across their surfaces enhances this specimen, making it a very fine example from this locality.
