This miniature specimen features a sparkling aggregate of brown vesuvianite crystals (up to 4mm) that shimmer across the surface. Scattered among the vesuvianite are glassy orange micro grossular garnets and small green diopside crystals. All species are well-formed at the micro scale, making this an excellent candidate for close examination under magnification. Collected from the York River Skarn in Ontario, this piece is a fine example of the rich mineral assemblages characteristic of this classic skarn locality.
