This specimen features a large, glassy, pseudocubic crystal of vesuvianite with a semi-translucent yellow-brown hue, bright luster, complex face geometry, and clear edge modifications, all contributing to its unusually well-defined crystal architecture. Remnants of white calcite matrix are visible in some areas, and the specimen is sprinkled with a few grossular crystals, enhancing its overall mineralogical appeal.
Originating from the historic "Lago de Jaco" finds, now known as Sierra de las Cruces, this superb vesuvianite was most likely collected in between the 1950s and 70s. It is a prime example of vesuvianite from this renowned locality, reflecting both its historical significance and exceptional crystallography.
