Endlichite forms a complete solid solution series between vanadinite and mimetite, with arsenic increasingly replacing vanadium. This rare secondary mineral results from the oxidation of primary lead minerals like galena and typically precipitates from aqueous solutions in veins and cavities alongside other secondary lead minerals. This specimen features lustrous brown, tapering hexagonal prisms of endlichite over equant lustrous brown descloizite. Acquired by Dr. Tarassoff decades ago, this piece represents a classic and beautiful example of endlichite.
