It is unclear whether these two pieces originated from the same crystal, as the striations do not align perfectly, suggesting that part of the middle section may be missing or they were always two separate pieces. Nevertheless, they are both fine examples of “watermelon” elbaite from this renowned locality. Each crystal features a dark green outer rim, approximately 2 mm thick, surrounding a rich pink interior. One end of each piece is terminated, while the opposite end is broken, revealing the colourful core.
