This thumbnail features a well-formed, lustrous dravite crystal, it would be a floater if it wasnt for the little bit of matrix stuck at the bottom corner. The crystals exhibits a smooth, honey brown hue, making it a striking example from the historic Powers Farm locality in Pierrepont, New York—a renowned Grenville Province site cherished by East Coast collectors. Historically, tourmalines from this locality were often misidentified as schorl or iron-rich uvite. The specimen is in good condition, with only minor contact. As material from Powers Farm and similar localities becomes increasingly scarce, this piece stands out as both a collectible and a noteworthy thumbnail representation of the region’s complex mineralogical history.
