This Grenvillian titanite specimen features numerous dark brown titanite crystals with mirror-like surfaces, set in a microcline feldspar matrix. While much of the titanite appears as aggregates with complex growth patterns and crystal faces, the highlight of the piece is a single, well-formed crystal exhibiting an unusual, almost diamond-shaped tabular habit. The specimen comes from Titanite Hill, a locality renowned for producing notable Grenville minerals such as fluorapatite, fluoro-richterite, and titanite. It was collected by my father and me during a summer collecting trip in 2020.
