These Grenvillian titanites from the Moncerf area of Quebec are highly prized by collectors for their superb crystal development, characterized by a distinctive shimmering velvety lustre and razor-sharp edges. Although titanite is typically brittle and often forms in challenging geological environments, this locality has earned a reputation for producing exceptional, well-preserved examples. This specimen is a very good representation, featuring a striking crystal stacked neatly atop another, creating an elegant and unusual composition. The main crystal is sharply defined, with crisp edges and excellent form, accented by a small patch of green diopside along one side — a subtle but attractive piece.
