Grenville titanites are highly sought after by both local rockhounds and international collectors, prized for their superb, lustrous crystals with razor-sharp edges. Despite their typically brittle nature and the tough environments they form in, this locality is renowned for producing exceptional specimens. Though they may appear black or dark brown at first glance, when backlit, these crystals reveal a stunning maroon-red hue. This particular specimen, though bearing a bit of a chalky complexion and some minor diopside-intergrowth contact around the edges, remains an excellent example of Grenville titanite's natural beauty. The piece features a well-formed, rather thick for its size, crystal with a scattering of green diopside crystals on its surface, adding to its overall appeal.
