Titanite

These Grenvillian titanites from the Moncerf area of Quebec are highly prized by collectors for their superb crystal development, characterized by a distinctive lustre and razor-sharp edges. Although titanite is typically brittle and often forms in challenging geological environments, this locality has earned a reputation for producing exceptional, well-preserved examples. This specimen is a very good representation, featuring a striking crystal that sits very well in a perky box. The main crystal is sharply defined, with hoppered faces and excellent form, a subtle but attractive piece.
