Suolinite is an exceptionally rare hydrated calcium silicate, with the world's finest examples originating from a now-abandoned asbestos mine, which operated as an underground site and later as an open pit. This specimen features translucent and lustrous crystals with a waxy lustre free of matrix. Recovered from a small lot collected between 1996 and 1999, no additional suolinite specimens have been found since, making pieces like this one exceedingly rare.
