Suolinite is an exceptionally rare hydrated calcium silicate, with the world's finest examples originating from a now-abandoned asbestos mine that operated first as an underground site and later as an open pit. Though small, this specimen features a veinlet of translucent, radiating, light lavender crystallization with a waxy lustre. The delicate colour sets this piece apart, as coloured suolinite crystals are exceedingly rare. Recovered from a small lot collected between 1996 and 1999, no additional specimens have been found since, making examples like this highly sought after and exceptionally scarce.
