This specimen features a sharply formed, colourless, sulphohalite crystal. As its name suggests, sulphohalite is a sodium sulfate halide species, named for its composition—containing sulfur—and the Greek word "hals," meaning salt, referencing its halogen content. This rare mineral is known from only six localities worldwide. This particular specimen originates from the Otjiwalundo Salt Pan, about 400 km west-northwest of Otavi, Namibia. It showcases a predominant, sharp, gemmy, and exceptionally well-formed pale crystal, making it a superb example of this incredibly rare species.
