A well-balanced specimen from the renowned Poudrette Quarry at Mont Saint-Hilaire, this piece features countless micro-spheres of powder white strontianite crystals, a member of the aragonite group. Among them are numerous rosettes of translucent, colourless gmelinite, each forming elegant, rounded crystal clusters. Scattered across the surface are several larger, white calcite crystals. that provide an appealing contrast to the finer textures of the strontianite and gmelinite. Together, these minerals form an association that captures the classic paragenesis for which Mont Saint-Hilaire is famous.
