This specimen features a single, terminated, and well-striated stibnite crystal from the renowned Xikuangshan Mine in China, known for its exceptional stibnite crystals. Displaying a striking metallic lustre and bright silvery colour, the crystal also exhibits the characteristic "bent" or "warped" morphology common in stibnite but rare among other minerals. Although there is minor chipping and edge wear, the crystal remains visually impressive.
The Xikuangshan Deposit is the world’s largest antimony source, housing four major ore bodies, of which only two have been exploited to date. Stibnite specimens from this location are prized globally, with some of the largest and finest examples for the species, showcasing thick, splendent, silvery crystals that often display natural striations. This specimen is a quintessential example of the specimens that makes Xikuangshan such a celebrated locality.
