This specimen features a combination of sphalerite, siderite, and galena from the Gambler Mine, one of the many operations extracting lead, zinc, and silver from the Keno Hill region in Canada's Yukon Territory. The mineral deposits in this area are typically found in veins or lodes along fault zones. The Gambler Mine is part of a larger cluster of silver-lead-zinc mines on Keno Hill and Galena Hill, which were significant producers of silver, lead, zinc, and cadmium during the 1940s and 1950s. The townsite of Keno City, located between Keno and Sourdough Hills, serves as the local centre for this historically important mining district.
